How to Use WhatsApp: From Your PC, Laptop | Pexels’s Guide

You can access WhatsApp on both your phone and your computer. WhatsApp offers two different solutions for using it’s service on a computer: WhatsApp Web and Desktop Apps (Windows and OS X).

WhatsApp Supported Operating Systems

  • Android running OS 4.0.3+
  • iPhone running iOS 9+
  • Select phones running KaiOS 2.5.1+

Once you have one of these devices, then simply install WhatsApp Application and verify your phone number. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.

WhatsApp Supported Devices

  • Android 2.3.7+.
  • Your Android phone is able to receive SMS or calls during the verification process.

Your phone must have a data or wifi connection to use WhatsApp on a computer. The app on your smartphone essentially is mirrored.

How to Set Up Your Phone With Whatsapp Web

  • Open https://web.whatsapp.com in your browser.
  • You’ll see a QR code for you to scan with the WhatsApp on your phone app.
  • If you use Android phone: Open WhatsApp, click on the three dots at the top right and choose WhatsApp web.
  • If you use iPhone: Open WhatsApp, tap the settings icon at the bottom left and choose WhatsApp web / desktop.
  • You’ll be prompted to use your smartphone’s camera to scan the QR code in your computer’s web browser.
  • Then point your phone camera at the computer screen to scan the code.
  • Whatsapp web will automatically launch in the browser and will remain active until you log out from your computer or your phone.
  • You’ll be able to see your WhatsApp messages on your phone and in the browser.
  • If you need to log out from your desktop, laptop – you can do it simply by click on the three dots at the top right, then choose Log out.

WhatsApp’s Web mirror the Web and mobile experience. You can send emojis, photos, documents, audio, video and voice notes, view your contact list and receive notifications updates on the computer.

How to Set Up Your Phone With Whatsapp Desktop

The desktop app set-up is similar to set-up of WhatsApp Web, with only one exception. So, first download and install the application in your PC or Laptop.

  • Download the Mac or Windows version of the app from whatsapp.com/download.
  • Mac users will need to unzip the file, then move WhatsApp to the Applications folder.
  • Windows users will need to run the .EXE file and follow the prompts.
  • You’ll see a QR code for you to scan with the WhatsApp on your phone app.
  • If you use Android phone: Open WhatsApp, click on the three dots at the top right and choose WhatsApp web.
  • If you use iPhone: Open WhatsApp, tap the settings icon at the bottom left and choose WhatsApp web / desktop.
  • You’ll be prompted to use your smartphone’s camera to scan the QR code in your computer’s web browser.
  • Then point your phone camera at the computer screen to scan the code.
  • Whatsapp web will automatically launch in the browser and will remain active until you log out from your computer or your phone.
