Google Chromebooks Users Now Get Extends Update Support Till 2025

Google’s Auto Update Expiration Policy is a controversy among tech fans. The products such as smartphones and Chromebooks will get updates for a certain period of time. After that, they won’t receive the latest security or feature. AUE can be an important factor for new buyers.

The company is committed to supporting a number of models by June 2025. The current policy means a brand new Chromebook gets less than 6.5 years of support. Today, up to 3 years are promised under the revision of Lenovo.

The Full List of Devices With Extended AUE:

  • Flex 11 Chromebook
  • 100e Chromebook 2nd Gen MTK
  • N23 Yoga Chromebook
  • 300e Chromebook
  • 300e Chromebook 2nd Gen MTK
  • Ideapad S330 Chromebook
  • Ideapad C330 Chromebook
  • Poin2 Chromebook 14

Google also suggests that manufacturers always pick the new platform to make sure the longest support. Extended support in place makes Chromebooks a lot more promising for anyone seeking a budget-focused laptop.

If Google is able to extend support for 10 years, all Chromebooks will make a significant difference, even if you buy a model that is a couple of years old.
