Zynga Hack | Exposes 218 Million Accounts

Zynga affected 218 million usernames and passwords stolen from the company in September. Zynga confirmed that there was a breach of accounts login details for Draw Something and Words with Friends Players.

According to the Hacker News Sunday article, a hacker calling himself Gnosticplayer said he stole over 218 million player accounts. In November, Zynga had 67 Million active monthly users.

The company reported third-quarter revenue of $345.3 million, a 48% increase, on net income of $230 million. The game company says that the law enforcement authorities have been alerted and there is an ongoing investigation.

Zynga is one of the world’s most successful social game developers with a collection of hit online games – FarmVille, Words With Friends, Zynga Poker, Mafia Wars, and Café World,with over a billion players worldwide.

The stolen users’ information includes their:

  • Names
  • Login IDs
  • Facebook ID
  • Phone numbers
  • Email Addresses
  • Zynga account ID
  • Hashed passwords
  • Password reset token
