The G9’s is impressive. The 49-inch G9 is the world’s first “dual quad high definition” display with a 5120×1440 resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms pixel response time, 1000R curvature, FreeSync and G-Sync.
It’s one of the first Samsung screens with a 1000R curvature, and it can handle DisplayHDR 1000 brightness as well as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. Pricing was not provided by the company. The hardware makes it clear, however the monitors especially the G9, will be premium priced. Although they’re not 4K monitors.
The demand for gaming monitors is expected to rise from about 7.8 million units in 2019 to 12.2 million by 2023. By offering game monitors designs which put their needs first, Samsung will remain the market leader in innovation.
Odyssey is now becoming a Samsung’s official product line for gaming gear. The company has announced that beginning this year, its Odyssey line of gaming laptops, PCs and VR devices is expanding to include gaming monitors, too.
