How To Upgrade To Windows 10 From Windows 7 For Free

The Microsoft Windows 7 users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 10 in January 2020 before support for the previous ends. A few years ago the free Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 upgrade offer by Microsoft ended, but you can still upgrade to Windows 10. for free.

If you have an older PC or laptop that still runs Windows 7, the Microsoft free upgrade program that officially expired in 2016 is still available. Windows 7 users who are not upgrading to the new version will no longer be able to get security updates from Microsoft or technical support for any problems.

The most important thing to remember is that the upgrade to Windows 10 might wipe out your settings and apps. Make sure you remember which applications you use on a regular basis so you can quickly download them again.

  • When prompted, choose “Upgrade this PC now.”
  • Once the upgrade is complete, go to Settings Update & Security > Activation, and you should see a digital license for Windows 10.

You can only update to Windows 10 Home with Windows 7 or 8 Home licenses, while Windows 7 or 8 Pro can only be up-dated to Windows 10 Pro.
