The loading time of a website in your phone’s screen is not only time-consuming, but also frustrating. The solution is to turn the Airplane mode on, wait a few seconds and then switch it off. But it doesn’t always work, and more drastic steps will be taken such as removing your SIM or resetting your network settings.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps to get your phone working again.
Android: The quick settings panel is viewed from the top of your screen. Click the Airplane icon, wait for your phone to disconnect from its Wi-Fi and cellular connections completely.
iPhone: Open Control Center, older iPhone users swipe up from the bottom of the screen and click on the Airplane mode icon. It will turn orange when it’s enabled and wait up to a minute before turning it off.
Restart Your Phone
Android: Hold the power button until the menu appears and then select restart. If your phone doesn’t offer a restart option, hold the power button until the screen is black and then turn it back on.
iPhone: For iPhone hold the home button until the power slider is displayed. Drag the slider to the right. Once the device is turned off, press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple logo.
Remove Your Sim
All Phones: Remove your SIM card, see if it is damaged and put it back into your phone in a SIM tray correctly.
eSIM: The best thing you can do is to restart your handset for the iPhone XS Max, XR, Pixel 3 or Pixel 4 users who are using an eSIM.
Tips for your iPhone or iPad: Apple’s Support Page has some tips listed above for troubleshooting signal issues.
Update your iPhone carrier settings, open Settings > General > About on your phone. If an update is available, you’ll be prompted to install it. These updates help the iPhone optimize connectivity.
Reset Network Settings
Apple suggests to try refreshing the network settings of your phone.
Remember, resetting your network settings will also reset any saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN connections and APN settings for those on carriers that require additional setup. Go to Setup > General > Reboot > Reset network settings. Confirm your selection and restart your phone.
